The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia’s Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.

Candidate will be a member of NI Services “Centre of Innovation” team, in Nokia Turkey R&D center. He/she will be working together with product experts & solution architects to implement end to end use-cases related to Predictive Care services and care related automation projects. Services & features developed by our team are used externally worldwide by the telecom operator customers of Nokia and internally by the Nokia experts/Technical Support Engineers.

The Optics Subject Matter Expert is an individual contributor with broad knowledge in the Optics Transmission technology, with a greater focus on Nokia transmission WDM and NMS products (i.e. the 1830 PSS and NFM-T). Has the ability to contribute & technically lead on Case Handling Automation project for Optics domain with automation ideas/know-how, provide Optics troubleshooting & log analysis expertise, create new automation use-cases, create & maintain Optics lab environment for automation use-case development, ability to make customer / internal demonstrations, prepare demos/trials, manage POC's for Optics automation use-cases, and acts as an SME by providing technical guidance, leadership and coaching.

As part of our team, you will:

  • Develop Predictive Care related Network Monitoring Tools/use-cases, Case Handling Automation/Log Analytics related automation features.
  • Act as an Optics Subject Matter Expert in NI Center of Innovation team and work together with Software Developers/other Solution Architects & other stakeholders to create Optics related automation use-cases & tools.
  • Drive the implementation of automation use-cases in the field by being an ambassador of the Case Handling Automation, perform demo's/trials/POC's, create marketing materials and provide regular trainings to the global community.
  • Collaborate with Optics Care community & Optics Product Units / PLM's to realize Case Handling Automation projects in Optics domain.
    • Automate recurrent data processing, analysis & visualization, knowledge search/management, process improvement tasks that will be further used by hundreds of Optics care engineers worldwide

Your skills and experience

You have:

  • Bsc degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications or equivalent experience. Seniority of the candidate will be taken into account in the offer.
  • Subject Matter Expert level knowledge on Nokia Optics transmission products and NMS products (i.e. the 1830PSS and NFM-T)
  • Trouble shooting of Nokia Optical products & Java based applications on Unix based operating systems
  • Scripting knowledge (Shell, Perl, Python) will be advantage
  • Experience of relational (ex: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and non-relational (ex: MongoDB, Elasticsearch, OpenTSDB) DBMS and experience in writing SQL or NoSQL queries.
  • Knowledge on Unix based operating systems [CLI]
  • Ability to articulate technical issues/solutions to internal/external customers.
  • Self-motivation (Do not require constant ‘oversight/assistance’ to get jobs done, etc.).
  • Adaptability (Adapt to change quickly; Ability to learn new technology, products, processes, e.t.c quickly)
  • Exceptional customer service skills. Placing customer needs first is an absolute requirement.

It would be nice if you also had experience in:

  • Modern software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, etc.
  • AI/ML: Implementing deep learning models using open source frameworks such as Keras and Tensor Flow, etc.
  • Automation frameworks / tools experience like (Robot Framework, BluePrism, Automation Anywhere etc.)
  • Knowledge or experience in Nokia IP or Fixed Networks products
  • Large Language Models, Natural Language Processing, Chatbots
