For over 20 years, Nickies has served delightful dinners with a unique combination of flavours and spices carefully prepared by an amazing team. We are proud of our team, we are looking for two Thai restaurant managers to join our team.

In order to keep our standards, the restaurant manager must meet to requirements below.

  • At least 3 years of the related work experience
  • At least a related NZ Register Diploma Level 5 qualification may substitute for the experience (overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification)
  • Knowledge of Thai food ingredients as we take food allergies seriously

Job Description

  • Planning menus in consultation with chefs
  • Planning and organising special functions
  • Coordinating daily front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house restaurant operations
  • Arranging the purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget
  • Maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions
  • Controlling operational costs and identifying measures to cut waste
  • Estimating future needs for goods, kitchen utensils and cleaning products
  • Regularly reviewing product quality and researching new suppliers
  • Ensuring dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance
  • Delivering superior service and maximising customer satisfaction with meals and service
  • Responding efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
  • Selecting, training and supervising waiting and kitchen staff
  • Organising and supervising shifts for waiting and kitchen staff
  • Promoting the restaurant in the local community
  • Implementing policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations
  • May take reservations, greet guests and take orders

Other detail

  • This is a full-time and permanent position
  • Wage payment is $29.66 per hour, and you will be paid weekly
  • Holiday pay and sick leave will be paid according to the law
  • You will be working at 34 Broadway, Newmarket, Auckland
  • We are open from Monday to Friday Lunch: 12 pm to 2.30 pm and Dinner: 5 pm 10.30 pm, Saturday to Sunday Dinner: 5 pm to 10.30 pm
  • You will work for 30 hours (a maximum of 48 hours) according to a roaster 5 - 6 days each week
