Our family client is seeking a Big-Brother Au Pair who has some experience working with children on the autism spectrum. He should also be young, active, sporty and academically inclined. The au pair’s role will be focused on building that big brother/ mentor relationship with this 12 yr old boy, so positive engagement and commitment to this role is essential!
The 12-year-old has mild autism and can struggle to cope with the normal stresses of school and home life, so an awareness of how to best support him through this stage of preteens to teens will be greatly appreciated.
TIME: Mondays to Wednesdays from 4pm to 7pm. Thursdays from 4pm to 8.30pm
AND every 2nd Saturday and every 4th Saturday from 8am to 4pm
DESCRIPTION:
- Pick up the 12 year old from his school in Plumstead at 4pm and take him home to the City Bowl .
- Do some homework with him, or take him for some time out to the park, to kick a ball or for a walk on the mountain or beach etc.
- Prepare dinner for him and yourself whilst he goes to shower. Sit together and chat, chill, watch TV or play computer games.
- Ensure that his bags are packed and ready for the next day of school etc.
- Leave at 7pm when Mom gets home from work.
- The Saturday's you are on duty its time for fun, relaxation and going on outings that give him joy!!
START DATE: December Trial & January 2024
MONTHLY SALARY: R10,000 to R11,000 plus petrol @R4.20km when using your car for the family.
