Purpose of the post: The position of Technical Officer for Other Immunization has a nationwide role and is responsible and accountable for coordinating and collaborating with provincial offices to strategies and develop an action plan to identify, mapping, classification, and risk categorization of all types of high-risk mobile population while ensuring full implementation of the NEAP recommendations. The officer will also be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing other immunization activities in accordance with national and IHR recommendations. The incumbent of this post is expected to provide strategic and technical leadership to provincial and district teams, oversee other immunization-related activities and associated databases, and ensure the full implementation of the NEAP and the immunization-specific Work Plan derived from the NEAP.
Organizational Context: Under the direct supervision of the Coordinator Polio Eradication, the incumbent will work as Technical Officer for Other Immunization within the framework of national policies and guidelines defined in WHO program and policy documents to provide support to the polio eradication efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work as focal point and responsible for the administration and management of the HRMP, IHR and cross border collaboration on Polio Eradication efforts.

2. Coordinate with provinces to identify, mapping, classification, and risk categorization of all types of high-risk mobile populations.
3. Develop, implement, and manage other immunization activities (Transit Vaccinations/Nomads Immunization Initiative) and vaccination of international travelers.
4. Support resource planning and arrange adequate vaccines, logistics, and other resources for quality implementation of the initiatives.
5. Monitor the performance of the other Immunization Initiatives- Teams, ensure capacity building and high performance, and identify gaps in immunization programs.
6. Develop strategies to address gaps in immunization coverage and improve the effectiveness of immunization programs.
7. Coordination with CHE and other stakeholders and support the implementation of the IHR temporary recommendations on traveler vaccination and provide regular reports required for IHR meetings.
8. Participate in relevant meetings, workshops, and training sessions to stay up-to-date on immunization-related issues and trends, and to share best practices with other professionals in the field.
Functional skills and experience:
- The incumbent must have at least 2 years of professional work experience in polio eradication initiative, particularly in immunization activities for High-Risk Mobile Populations (HRMP) and International Health Regulations (IHR), as and health emergencies.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Familiarity and work experience with the community.
- The incumbent must have a clear understanding of gender equality, sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment.

- Degree in medical sciences, public health, management, or business administration.
- Master’s degree is preferable
