A Day in the Life of a Web Graphic Designer:
The Digital Communication Unit of the General Secretariat of the Council manages the creation, update, and optimization of the visual online identity of the GSC. It creates and updates video animations, infographics, illustrations, icons, and images published on the Council's website and corporate social media channels.
The Digital Communication Unit intends to sustain the growth in visual communication by hiring a web graphic designer to work at the Council premises in support of the Council Web Designer.
Your main duties will be:
- Create mockups and interactive prototypes for mobile and web interfaces.
- Create and update infographics, images, icons, and illustrations for the website and social media channels of the Council.
- Create and update video animations for the website and social media channels of the Council of the EU.
If you have
- At least 3 years of professional experience in the web graphic design field. Experience in interaction design and infographics is essential
- Ability to create short video animations for the web
- A solid understanding of the multichannel production process to prepare visuals, infographics, graphs, and layouts across a wide spectrum of channels
- In-depth working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, in particular Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, and InDesign CC
- Ability to create high-fidelity prototypes using tools such as Figma
- Ability to create vector illustrations and icons

It would also be a plus if you had
- A basic understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and designing for accessibility.
- Experience in interactive infographics, SVG animation, and LottieFiles.
