Internship Communication [Belgium]


 
Who you are

Please note that this is an non-paid academic internship for students looking to complete the Program requirements. The internship will commence in February-March for a 12 week period.

As a communication intern you:

  • Have a strong knowledge of communication methods and processes to deliver efficient communication and stakeholder plans.
  • have a deep interest for digital (communication) tools and evolutions of ways of working (Teams, Sharepoint, email, remote working…)
  • Have strong communication skills in French, Dutch (spoken and written), and English.
  • Have proven education in strategic communications or equivalent
  • Have the ability to understand the complexity of IKEA business and the role of communication as an integrated part of the business
  • Can communicate verbally, visually and in writing in an inspirational way with down to earth and simple IKEA tone of voice
  • Can work autonomously
  • Have a proactive attitude in problem solving and hands-on approach when necessary
  • Are up to date with communication trends and principles, to give advice in the choice of tools, methods and channels
  • Have a driving license (type B), mobility across Belgium will be required.

Your responsibilities

You will:
  • Take the lead in the the digital channel literacy project and work together with digital and Human Resources to improve the knowledge on the tools we have at our disposal and initiate change in working behaviours (eg. mail culture).
  • Be responsible for different internal communication assignments
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of communication projects hand in hand with other departments
  • Enable effective internal communication and assist in the creation of prerequisites for our leaders and co-workers to be our best ambassadors
  • Define, plan, create/execute and follow up on internal communications activities
  • Ensure a good interaction with the unit and adapt to the local culture

Our team is the voice of IKEA. We use words, pictures and videos to tell the story about IKEA, to build our brand and inspire people with our offer. We bounce ideas back and forth, we challenge each other and we are crazy passionate about communication. Of course we’re also the ones who make sure to keep all our fellow co-workers informed, engaged and connected in a constantly changing business environment.
