Hi!I'm John, Head of Research & Development, at VoltStorage GmbH, a Munich-based start-up with currently 54 employees. In 2016, Michael, Jakob and Felix founded VoltStorage. Our vision was and is to make renewable energy available 24/7 to enable a green, sustainable and fair future. As an expert for stationary flow batteries, we want to cover all application areas of stationary battery storage systems with our multi-technological approach and thus contribute significantly to the energy transition. Lab Technician (gn).
As a Lab Technician (gn) you will be part of our R&D team and test the performance of battery cells, electrolytes, materials and operating conditions. You will help us fulfill our vision and work side by side with our international team.
Tasks
You are a perfect fit for us if you can imagine the following tasks in the future:
- Performing various tests for characterization and evaluation of battery materials (e.g., chemical compatibility, electrochemical performance)
- Work with R&D colleagues to implement new testing capabilities and procedures
- Collect, organize, and analyze data from tests
- Identify test process improvements and document approved changes to procedures
- Support the development of electrolyte and additives for improving battery performance and stability
Make sure to convince us about yourself, even if you bring other suitable experiences and skills than the following:
- Completed training as laboratory technician (e.g. chemistry/physics, CTA) or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physics, or chemical engineering, plus 2 years of laboratory experience
- Familiarity with analytical and electrochemical techniques (UV/VIS, titrations, cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, etc.)
- Prior experiences working hands-on with batteries, and/or fuel cells is advantageous
- Experience with LabView, programming data collection, and/or programming control boards (raspberry Pi, Arduino, etc.,) are a plus
- Strong spoken and written English language skills
